First of all, thank you for taking time to research East Wenatchee First Baptist Church. It is important to acknowledge, out of the gates, that this church is not perfect, but our commitment is to be pressing to continually grow and improve who we are, what we believe, and what we do.
• Jesus First
• God’s Word Authority
• Prayerful Dependence
• Grace-Filled Living
• Loving Holiness
• Joyful Fellowship
• Open Arms to All
As the pastor of the church, I intentionally prioritize focusing our attention on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. We are His church, bought with His life’s blood, and are to be presented to Him as His holy bride. To be called a Christian is to acknowledge that we are Christ followers above all other things in life, and so we must follow Him well. We want to enjoy a relationship with our Savior that is blessed and full of joy, peace, and contentment, and this means that we must work on it. We believe that studying, meditating upon, and living out the teachings of God’s Word is the primary means of relationship development with our Savior. We also believe that honest and sincere prayer is a close secondary means of growing the relationship.
I am an expository preacher by conviction. It is my very firm belief that the pulpit is God’s turf, and He must speak, and we must listen. A sermon is only as good as its dedication to preserving God’s intended meaning of the text.
Furthermore, it is important to know that we are people of grace who condemn legalism as the standards of some imposed upon others. We believe that children of God live in the light of His grace, liberated to do right and good as well as to enjoy His many gifts and pleasures. To love the Lord, and live for Him, God’s people naturally separate themselves from iniquity, and strive for holiness, not by compulsion of regulations. It is a marvelous life as a Christian, and we relish in its blessings.
Come and visit us. We are always glad to fellowship with God’s people. And if you are not a Christ follower, but are looking for a church to visit, come. We would love the opportunity to meet you, introduce you to our Savior, and grow to know you better. We’ll keep an eye out for you.
