S.A.I.L. Classes

Description: Stay Active and Independent for Life (S.A.I.L.) is a fun, low-impact fitness program designed for adults age 65 and older who want to improve their strength, balance, flexibility, and overall mobility. Classes are welcoming to all fitness levels and include exercises that can be performed standing or seated, making them accessible for individuals with varying abilities. The S.A.I.L. program is recognized as an evidence-based fall prevention program that helps older adults maintain their independence and confidence through regular physical activity.

When: Our S.A.I.L. classes meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00am – 11:00am providing a consistent opportunity to stay active while enjoying fellowship with others. Each one-hour session includes a gentle warm-up, strength and balance exercises, flexibility movements, and a cool-down designed to improve everyday function and reduce the risk of falls. Regular participation has been shown to help seniors maintain mobility and quality of life.

Where: Fellowship downstairs in main building. 1700 Grant Road, East Wenatchee.

Operation Christmas Child

Every year, our church joins thousands of churches around the world in sharing the love of Jesus through Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. By packing simple shoebox gifts with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and personal notes, we help bring joy to children in need while opening the door for them to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Each shoebox is delivered through local churches in more than 170 countries and territories, where children not only receive a gift but are also invited to learn about Jesus through The Greatest Journey discipleship program. What begins as a simple act of generosity can have an eternal impact on a child, a family, and even an entire community.

Whether you pack one shoebox or many, your gift becomes part of a worldwide mission to share God’s love and the hope found in Jesus Christ.

Annual Summer VBS

Every June, East Wenatchee First Baptist Church welcomes children for an exciting week of Vacation Bible School (VBS)! VBS is filled with engaging Bible lessons, energetic music, fun games, creative crafts, memorable snacks, and opportunities for children to build lasting friendships while learning about God’s love through Jesus Christ.

Although this year’s VBS has ended, we would love to have your family join us next summer! Planning ahead is the best way to make sure your child doesn’t miss out on this exciting week.

Planning for Next Year

  • Watch for registration to open in the spring.
  • Register early, as class sizes may be limited.
  • Invite friends, neighbors, and grandchildren to attend with your family.
  • Follow our church announcements, website, and social media for next year’s theme, dates, and registration information.
  • If you’d like to be notified when registration opens, contact the church office and we’ll be happy to add you to our VBS notification list.

Vacation Bible School is open to children from our church and throughout the surrounding communities ages 5 to 12. We look forward to another exciting week of discovering God’s truth together and hope to see your family next June!
