The purpose of 12 Steps with God is to address our physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual struggles through the application of God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life.

This biblical counseling ministry uses the truth of God’s Word within a revised, Gospel-based, Christ-centered 12 Steps. The entire ministry is placed on a foundation of Biblical Counseling where everyone is encouraged to look to God’s Word as we “…with all wisdom, teach and admonish one another…” (Colossians 3:16)

Our Wednesday evening meeting focuses on Personal Transformation – studying God’s Word, with an emphasis on learning and applying the truth to each of our lives. In small groups we open a door by sharing our experiences, including our struggles and strengths, and allow our hope to be renewed together as we become willing to accept God’s grace in helping us to address our life issues.

We will honor anonymity and confidentiality in the entire 12 Step ministry. What is shared and even your presence, stays here.

In this ministry, 12 Steps with God, we believe that God’s Word and the Holy Spirit can:

  • Help us recover from hurts, replace bad habits, and overcome nagging hang-ups.
  • Help us understand that not all hurting is a result of our sin.
  • Work in anyone’s life; but victory over any life issues comes through faith, spiritual discipline (2 Cor. 10:3-5), and the encouragement/support of all the “one-another’s” as a member of a Bible-believing church.
  • Help us understand that we may not be relieved of all hurts in this life and that as a believer, we have access to God’s all-sufficient grace.

Join us every Wednesday 6:30 to 8:30 PM. We have a meal & testimony night the 1st Wednesday of each month beginning at 6 PM — join us for a warm evening of fellowship.

Be assured that when you come to 12 Steps with God, it will be…

–a place of candid fellowship and encouragement for grace and growth, to give and receive hope;

–a place where anonymity and confidentiality are highly regarded:

— a place to learn and grow in Christ as we explore God’s Word;

a place to grow closer to God and challenge others to do the same;

In our journey of recovery and redemption…

We know and are convinced that only through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and a life surrendered to Him can we have lasting victory over our inclination to focus on self and the sin that follows!

A lasting recovery will come when we find redemption in Jesus Christ and walk with Him…

12 Steps with God…

Step 1  — Confession
Realizing that our lives are unmanageable, and we are powerless to do what is good; we acknowledge that sin eternally separates us from our righteous, loving God and that we are helpless to meet His standard on our own.

Step 2  — Gospel
We know that a loving God, extending mercy and grace to us, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin and offers us an abundant life and greater joy than on our own.

Step 3  — Faith
Through God’s mercy and grace, we recognized our lost condition, repented of our sin, and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior to receive the gift of eternal life.  Moment by moment we reaffirm that decision by turning our will and lives over to the care of God.

Step 4  — Examine
We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Step 5  — Admit
We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to a brother/sister in Christ the sin in our lives.

Step 6  — Surrender
We were entirely ready to give God control of our lives and help us move from a focus on self to one of humility and a concern for others.

Step 7  — Petition
We humbly asked Him to cleanse us from all sin.

Step 8  — Assessment
We made a list of all persons we had harmed and identified ways to make amends to them all.

Step 9  — Amends
We made direct amends to such people whenever possible.

Step 10  — Admission
We continue to take personal inventory and when we are wrong, promptly admit it and seek to be reconciled.

Step 11  — Prayer
We seek through prayer and meditation to know God’s Word and grow in Christ, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out.

Step 12  — Discipleship
Having come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and beginning this journey of faith with Him in a Bible-believing church, we share the gospel with others and encourage them to grow in Christ.

Thoughts from Alcoholics Anonymous…

While these 12 Steps with God were inspired by the Twelve Steps of A.A., they are not an actual adaptation of those 12 Steps. Rather they were created specifically for this group and should not be construed otherwise. A.A. is a program concerned only with the recovery from alcoholism and, is in no way affiliated with this group, or allied with any sect, denomination, or specific religious belief.

Thoughts from East Wenatchee First Baptist Church…

While AA and other religious 12 Step recovery groups were in part the inspiration for this ministry, the 12 Steps with God were specifically developed to be a Christ-centered, Bible-based Biblical Counseling ministry of the local church for those struggling with addiction and a myriad of other life issues. Our sole objective is to minister to those who are struggling by introducing them to Christ, discipling them in their relationship with Christ, and helping them begin to disciple and encourage others to do the same.
